We all have seen some wonders recently in the Pakistani film industry. The growth certainly is exponential, however, there are only a handful of movies which managed to do good at the box office. There are plenty of upcoming Pakistani films which are creating a buzz and ‘Cake’ is definitely one of them.
The film, starring Aamina Sheikh, Adnan Malik and Sanam Saeed, is going to hit the cinemas on March 30th, 2018. The director Asim Abbasi, has shared the meaning behind the mysterious title of the movie. He disclosed what his “Cake” means while speaking about the title of his upcoming flick.
“Cake is like a silent observer at every big moment of our lives. It will be interesting to see how many times the audience will see a cake popping up in the frame.” – Asim Abbasi.
Cake is about everyone’s life and the insights about the familial ups and downs. The film portrays the tensions in a family, but this depiction is in an extremely emphatic manner. It is an emotionally charged picture but it is not melodramatic.
The film seems to display the true sibling bond between Sanam Saeed [Zara] and Amina Sheikh (Zareen). Although Zareen is the middle child among three siblings yet she has developed certain traits of “bari behen” due to the circumstances that she had to go through in her life. However, she is still trying to figure herself out.
Zara, on the other hand is little non-serious and facetious as she is the younger one.
Additionally, Adnan Malik is playing “Romeo” who is a very compassionate and sympathetic man.
So overall, ‘Cake’ is very mazedar and the audience is going to enjoy every bit of it. There will be laughter, giggles but some tears too. So, hang on tight, as it will be there to blow you away on March 30!
